Knowing about latest Trump's take on tariffs
Zee Business Managing Editor said Trump yesterday remarked that he is not taking trade policy related calls based on markets and in fact he even does not oversees the market. Further, he attributes the fall in the US markets for the past few sessions to the foreign institutions.
He aslo added that with these tariff levies, the state of US economy will stregthen and he does not bothers about the US markets.
Also, as a bold statement he iterated and quoted someone big as mentioning, “Market forces will force you to do what they want you to do”. So, citing his latest remarks market wizard believes Trump's fresh remarks can still further negativity into an already weak sentiment.
And this will further create volatility in the US markets and result in an increased weak sentiment therein.
Will weak sentiment in US bode well for Indian markets?
On the weak sentiment in the US, which has seen Nasdaq declining 10 per cent from life high and indices losing all-their gains post Trump's Presidency, Anil Singhvi held that now the US markets are also worried owing to the likely trade war situation.
He added that amid the current global landscape, following key pointers will augur well for India:
- the decrease in the dollar index to below 104 is highly good for emerging markets like India. And on this Anil Singhvi said that we have reiterated several times that only on the decline in dollar index, Indian markets will see a recovery.
- Crude oil price fall to 3-year low is another positive.
- the deferrment in auto tariffs on Mexico and Canada is another positive
- Also, Trump as per Singhvi will think twice before taking on the next trade policy move that could lead to a tariff war.
