Next Delhi CM: Following the recent Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP's top officials have yet to announce the name of the new Chief Minister. According to news agency IANS, the decision will be made once Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his tour of the United States.

Selection of Delhi's New Chief Minister

According to IANS, party insiders revealed that BJP National President JP Nadda has stated that the new Chief Minister will be chosen from among the elected MLAs. The final decision will be made at the Legislature Party meeting after PM Modi’s return.

Focus Areas of Delhi's New Government

Party insiders also indicated, as per the IANS report, that cleaning the Yamuna River will be one of the new BJP government's key priorities. The party has already started working on this issue and is committed to fulfilling its promise of cleaning the river. Another major initiative will be the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Delhi, aimed at providing health coverage to underserved populations. This scheme was not implemented during the tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party.

No Deputy Chief Minister in the New Government

Nadda also hinted that important policy decisions would be made in the first cabinet meeting after the new Chief Minister is sworn in, according to the news agency report. A major announcement from Nadda is that there will be no Deputy Chief Minister in the new BJP government in Delhi.

The BJP has already held a series of meetings involving top leaders following the election results. Another round of meetings is expected to take place in the next two days.

BJP's Historic Victory in Delhi

In the Delhi Assembly elections held on February 5, the BJP achieved a landslide victory, securing 48 out of 70 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won only 22 seats. The election results were declared on February 8, and with the current term of the Delhi Assembly set to end on February 26, the new government will need to take charge before then.
