The incumbent Aam Aadmi Party secured 22 seats. The halfway mark is 36. Tight security arrangements were in place to carry out the crucial ballot counting process, which began at 8 am on Saturday. In the 2025 Delhi Assembly polls, 699 candidates—603 male and 96 female—contested across 70 constituencies. Electors cast their ballots for the contest in a single phase on February 5, with a total voter turnout of 60.42 per cent across 11 districts. The turnout was weaker than in 2020, when AAP staged a clean sweep with 62 out of the 70 seats and the remaining eight seats went to BJP, while the Congress got none.

With the BJP looking set to form the next government in the national capital, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri lashes out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), predicting its "disintegration" over former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's monopoly on decision making.
"They (AAP) tried to fool the people of Delhi for 10 years and did not even give the people what they could have given. AAP will disintegrate in its current form because the control is with Kejriwal. You ask Atishi, how much freedom to make decisions she has," Puri tells news agency ANI.
