Vicky Kaushal’s latest film, Chhaava, has emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, surpassing Rs 400 crore at the global box office. Released on February 14, the historical drama has garnered widespread acclaim and strong audience reception.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is based on the life of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Kaushal portraying the titular role. Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Yesubai. The film is produced under Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.
According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, Chhaava has amassed Rs 444.50 crore worldwide. Its domestic net collection stands at Rs 326.75 crore, with a gross of Rs 391.35 crore, while overseas earnings contribute Rs 53.15 crore.
The movie also features Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, and Ashutosh Rana in key roles. This marks another collaboration between Kaushal and Utekar, who previously worked together on the 2023 romantic-comedy Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.
